July 20 — For the Glory of God

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31

Much of life is made up of ordinary moments. Daily routines, simple tasks, conversations, responsibilities—things that may seem small or even routine. It can be easy to think that only certain actions are “spiritual,” while the rest are simply part of everyday life. But Paul offers a different perspective. “…whatever you do…” There is no division here. Every part of life—both significant and ordinary—is included. Nothing is too small to be shaped by your relationship with God.

Pause and reflect: How do I view the ordinary parts of my day? Do you see them as separate from your faith, or as places where your faith is lived out? “…do it all to the glory of God.” To live for God’s glory is not about drawing attention to ourselves. It is about reflecting His goodness in what we do and how we do it. It is a posture of intention—bringing awareness of God into every action. This may look simple. Doing your work with integrity. Speaking with kindness. Giving your full attention in a conversation. Responding with patience in a difficult moment.
These actions, though ordinary, become meaningful when they are done with a heart that seeks to honor God. Today, consider choosing one ordinary task and approaching it with this intention. You might pray, “Lord, let this reflect You.” Whether it is something routine or unexpected, let it become an opportunity to live out your faith. You do not need to wait for something extraordinary. God is present in the ordinary. And when you live with that awareness, even the smallest actions can reflect His glory—quietly, steadily, and meaningfully.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for being present in every part of my life, even in the ordinary moments. Help me to live with awareness of You in all that I do.

Teach me to act with integrity, kindness, and faithfulness. Let my actions reflect Your goodness and bring glory to You. Guide me to live each moment with purpose in Your presence.

I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
