His Father's House

When Mary and Joseph could not find the Boy Jesus among their company of relatives and friends, they left the group and returned to Jerusalem to search for Him. Finally, after searching for three days, Mary and Joseph found Jesus in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers. Jesus was listening to the teachers and He was asking them questions. And all who heard Jesus was astounded at His understanding and His answers.

When Jesus' parents saw Him, they were astonished. "Child, why have You done this to us?" His mother asked. "Your father and I have been anxiously searching for You."

"But why were you looking for Me?" Jesus asked. "Did you not know that I had to be in My Father's house?" But Mary and Joseph did not understand what Jesus was telling them.

Then Jesus went down to Nazareth with Mary and Joseph and He was obedient to them. But His mother gathered up all these things in her heart.

And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
