April 19 – Walking in the Light
But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we
have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us
from all sin.
Resurrection life is a life lived in the light. Light
exposes what is hidden, clarifies what is confused, and reveals what is true.
To walk in the light is to live openly before God—without concealment,
pretense, or duplicity. It means allowing Christ’s truth to shape our motives
and actions. John reminds us that walking in the light leads not only to
personal cleansing, but also to deeper fellowship. Honesty before God fosters
authenticity with others.
Reflect gently on your own walk. Ask yourself: Are there
areas of my life I prefer to keep hidden—from others or even from God? Where do
I present a version of myself that is incomplete or guarded? What would it mean
to step more fully into truth? Walking in the light does not mean flawless
living; it means transparent living. It is the freedom of bringing our whole
selves before God and trusting His grace.
Today, practice a small step of transparency. Confess a
hidden worry or struggle in prayer. Share honestly with a trusted friend or
mentor about something weighing on your heart. If you have been avoiding an
uncomfortable truth, face it with courage and invite God’s guidance. Pray
quietly, “Lord, lead me in Your light.” Notice how clarity and relief
accompany honesty. Light may reveal, but it also heals.
Loving Father, thank You for calling me into Your light.
Expose what needs healing and cleanse what needs forgiveness. Help me live
honestly before You and authentically with others. May Your light guide my
steps and reflect through my life each day. All this I pray in Jesus’ name.
Amen.
