Return from Egypt

Mary, Joseph, and the Child Jesus lived in Egypt, hiding from King Herod. And after Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph. “Get up!” he said. “Take the Child and His mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who sought the Child’s life are now dead.”

So, Joseph got up and took the Child and His mother back to the land of Israel. But he learned that Herod's son Archelaus was reigning in Judea in place of his father, and Joseph was afraid to go there. Also, Joseph was warned in a dream not to go to Judea. So, he took his family to the district of Galilee, where Archelaus' brother, Herod Antipas, was tetrarch. They went to live in the town of Nazareth. This fulfilled what was spoken through the prophets: “He will be called a Nazarene.”
