Morning Prayer in Capernaum

Early in the morning, while it was still dark, and before anyone else was awake, Jesus got up and slipped out to a solitary place to pray.

Simon and his companions realized Jesus was gone and they went to look for Him. The crowds soon realized Jesus was gone and they began looking for Jesus, too.

When Simon and his companions found Jesus, they said, “Everyone is looking for You!”

But Jesus answered, “Let us go on to the neighboring towns so I can preach there as well, for that is why I have come.”

And when the crowds found Jesus, they tried to keep Him from leaving. But Jesus told them, “I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns as well because that is why I was sent.”
