August 2 — Perfect Peace

You will keep in perfect peace the steadfast of mind, because he trusts in You. Trust in the LORD forever, because GOD the LORD is the Rock eternal. — Isaiah 26:3-4     Peace is something many people long for. We hope that if circumstances improve, if problems are resolved, or if uncertainty disappears, then peace will finally come. Yet life rarely remains free from challenges for very long. Isaiah points us toward a different kind of peace. “You will keep in perfect peace…” This peace does not begin with circumstances. It begins with God. It is His gift to those whose hearts are anchored in Him. While the world around us may change, God’s peace remains steady because He remains unchanged.   Pause and reflect: Where am I looking for peace today? Am I waiting for my circumstances to improve before I allow myself to rest? August 1 — Trusting God in Fear

When I am afraid, I put my trust in You. In God, whose word I praise—in God I trust. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? — Psalm 56:3-4   Fear comes in many forms. Sometimes it is immediate and clear—a situation that feels uncertain or threatening. Other times it is quieter, lingering beneath the surface as worry, anxiety, or concern about what may happen next. David does not deny fear. “When I am afraid…” He acknowledges it openly. Fear is not treated as failure, but as part of the human experience. The question is not whether fear will come, but what we will do when it does.   Pause and reflect: What fear am I carrying right now? Is there something weighing on your mind—something uncertain, unresolved, or beyond your control? “…I put my trust in You.” This is a choice. Trust does not always remove fear instantly, but it redirects it.
