June 14 — Fullness of Joy in His Presence

“You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.”
— Psalm 16:11

We often look for joy in what we can see and hold. In accomplishments, in experiences, in moments that feel meaningful or fulfilling. And while these things can bring happiness, they are often temporary. They rise and fall with circumstances, leaving us searching again when they fade. This verse points us toward something deeper. “...You will fill me with joy in Your presence.” Joy, in its truest sense, is not rooted in what we achieve or possess, but in where we are—and more importantly, in Who we are with. God’s presence is not simply a place we visit occasionally; it is the source of lasting joy.

Pause and reflect: Where am I currently looking for joy? Are you depending on circumstances to provide what only God’s presence can sustain? Have you made space to be aware of His presence today? “You have made known to me the path of life…” God does not only offer joy—He also guides. The path of life is not separate from His presence; it is found within it. As we walk with Him, we begin to experience a steadiness of joy that is not easily shaken.

Today, consider setting aside a quiet moment to simply be with God. Not to ask for anything, not to accomplish anything, but to rest in His presence. You might pray, “Lord, help me to find my joy in You.” Notice what begins to shift when you do. Joy may not arrive as a sudden emotion, but as a quiet sense of peace, contentment, or assurance. It may be subtle, but it is real. And over time, you may find that joy is no longer something you chase. It becomes something you receive.

Loving Father,

Thank You for the joy that is found in Your presence. Forgive me for the times I have looked elsewhere for what only You can provide.

Draw me closer to You, and help me to rest in Your presence each day. Teach me to find my joy in You, not in changing circumstances. Fill my heart with the peace and fullness that come from being near to You.

All this I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
