June 28 — Created for Good Works

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life.”
— Ephesians 2:10

Your life is not accidental. This verse reminds us that we are God’s workmanship—formed with intention, care, and purpose. The word suggests something crafted, shaped by a skilled and attentive hand. Your life is not random; it is the result of God’s thoughtful design. And this design includes purpose. “…created in Christ Jesus to do good works…” Good works are not something we strive to earn favor. They are the natural outflow of a life shaped by Christ. As we walk with Him, our lives begin to reflect His goodness in ways that are both meaningful and practical.

Pause and reflect: Do I see my life as purposeful? Or do you sometimes feel that what you do is small, unnoticed, or insignificant? It is easy to underestimate the value of everyday actions. “…which God prepared in advance…” This means that the opportunities before you today are not случайные—they are part of a larger design. The kindness you show, the care you offer, the faithfulness you live out—these are not wasted moments. They are part of the life God has prepared for you. “…as our way of life.” This is not about occasional acts, but about a pattern—a steady way of living. Good works are not interruptions to your life; they are woven into it.

Today, consider one opportunity before you. It may be simple—a conversation, a task, a moment to help or encourage. Instead of overlooking it, see it as part of what God has prepared for you. You might pray, “Lord, help me to walk in what You have prepared.” You do not need to search for something extraordinary. God is already at work in the ordinary. And as you walk in these prepared moments, your life becomes a reflection of His workmanship—purposeful, intentional, and quietly impactful.

Loving Father,

Thank You for creating me with purpose and for shaping my life with care. Help me to see myself as Your workmanship, formed by Your hand.

Guide me into the good works You have prepared for me. Open my eyes to the opportunities before me, and give me a willing heart to respond. Let my life reflect Your goodness in all that I do.

All this I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
