June 26 — Running with Endurance
“Therefore, since we
are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off every
encumbrance and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with endurance
the race set out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter
of our faith…”
The life of faith is not
a sprint—it is a journey. It unfolds over time, with seasons of energy and
seasons that require steady endurance. There are moments when the path feels
clear and purposeful, and others when it feels long and demanding. In all of
this, we are invited to keep going. “…let us throw off every encumbrance…” There
are things that slow us down—distractions, burdens, and habits that weigh on
us. Some may not be harmful in themselves, but they hinder our ability to move
forward freely. Others entangle more deeply, making progress more difficult.
Pause and reflect: What
might be weighing me down right now? Are there patterns, distractions, or
concerns that are making it harder for you to move forward in faith? Naming
them is the first step toward releasing them. “…and let us run with endurance
the race set out for us.” Endurance is not about speed—it is about persistence.
It is the willingness to continue, step by step, even when progress feels slow.
Your path is not meant to look like anyone else’s. It is uniquely set before
you. “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus…” This is where endurance finds its
strength. When our focus is scattered, we grow weary more quickly. But when our
attention is centered on Christ—His example, His presence, His faithfulness—we
find renewed clarity and direction.
Today, consider taking
one step forward with intention. You might release one burden, set aside one
distraction, or simply choose to continue where you feel tempted to stop. You
might pray, “Lord, help me to keep my eyes on You.” You are not running
alone. You are surrounded by encouragement, sustained by grace, and guided by
the One who began this journey with you. And as you continue, even at a steady
pace, you are moving forward—faithfully, purposefully, and with hope.
Loving Father,

Hebrews 12:1-2
Thank You for the path You have set before me and for the strength You provide along the way. You know where I feel tired and where I am tempted to give up.
Help me to release what weighs me down and to run with endurance. Keep my eyes fixed on Jesus, and guide me step by step. Sustain me as I continue this journey of faith.
All this I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
